2009 PKL Champions!

Hey! Look at that! We won.

We finished up the season with a record of 5-1, allowing us to fight it out in the wildcard slot. CBP was the only team to defeat us, and it was still a close game (not like last year's loss, which was 11-4, or something like that). So, to the wildcard game we went.

We played against the Anal Revenge (formerly Franal Revenge, formerly Freedom Revenge... formerly French Revenge), who we beat during the regular season 22-3, or something like that. They made it this far, so they were sure to be a challenge. Well, we only barely got a win, with a final score of 4-3. It actually got to bases loaded in the final out, but Andy made a great diving catch to stop them from scoring. After that, we got an hour break until we had to face CBP for the division title.

Did I mention it was pouring rain for a good 5 hours that day? Because it was, and that led to our victory against CBP, 7-2, or something like that.

So, we got to go to the finals and play against Scurvy Dog, who also managed to upset the winners from the past 2 years, the Holy Rollers. I guess the power of Christ couldn't compel them to win. Anyways, we played them and it was a good game, though we managed to hold on to an early lead. They had a good run in the final inning, resulting in a final score of 8-4, or something like that.

So, in any case, in our third year of existence, we managed to finally win the HyperBowl World Championship.

Let the bragging rights begin. All pics from the season can be viewed on the Flickr pool page, which is hyperlinked to the left.

Keep on keepin' on, y'all.

Week ? Game 4. Us vs. CBP

Welcome back to a real game, after a month'a disabilitatin' leisure-time. We dun' celebrated Amerr'ca's birfday an had us five more additions to the fambly. Ina good 6 years them young'ns'll be old enough to play, supposin the fambly dog don't get ta them first.

This Saturday's roster (July 25th). Sign up in the comments field.

I just want to remind y'all that kicking order 's set by this here list. If you ain't added youself ta the roster, come gametime, you getsta kick at the next open slot.

UPDATE
Hey all. To make things transition smoother, I'm creating an A Squad and B Squad. I want to hold you guys to this. Last year it was a weak B (or C) Squad that let CBP score 11 runs on us. I'm not letting that happen again.
If I don't hear from you by gametime, I'll make a printout of this list that we can use at the game (I'll be sober). You can mark a position there. If we have over 18 people (which we shouldn't) we'll start up a C group.
